"I'm truly honored that the citizens of the 69th District have put their trust in me and I'm ready to roll up my sleeves and get to work," Meadows said. I look forward to working with my colleagues, on both sides of the aisle, to move Michigan forward and keep our community a great place to live, work and raise our families."
Meadows supports creating good-paying jobs in the state and believes Michigan should reward companies that add jobs and that do not outsource to other states and countries. He is committed to making higher education more affordable. Meadows also will be working to make health care more affordable and accessible to Michigan's 1.1 million uninsured.
Meadows is the former mayor of East Lansing. He earned an undergraduate degree at Western Michigan University and his law degree at Michigan State University. Meadows was appointed as an assistant attorney general in 1975 and was assigned to represent, at various times, the Departments of Social Services, Mental Health, Natural Resources, and State Police; was in former Attorney General Frank Kelley's Environmental Protection Division; represented the Public Service Commission; and was general counsel to the Commission On Law Enforcement Standards.
