Michigan is facing some of the toughest times we've ever had, and our residents we feel have a right to expect that their elected officials will lead by example to share in the sacrifices that our citizens are sharing in, and when we make the tough decisions that we're going to have to make over the next two years, we want to have to make sure that our citizens have confidence that the legislature and particularly the democratic caucus are making decisions based on their best interests, not the best interests of special interests. So you've heard about closing the revolving door into the lobbying group, you've heard about the personal finance transparency that we believe is necessary and you've heard that we're going to be paid only for the work that we perform. Today I am here in my cleanup position to urge the Senate to take action on this plan that we have presented expect to have voted on in the house very soon. When it goes there we ask that the citizens call their Senators, put pressure on them, because this is something that the entire legislature must accomplish. Lets get this on the governor's desk, lets have her sign it into law, so that the citizens of this state can be confident that the decisions being made are for the right reasons
